Last year I had the amazing opportunity to participate in an Erasmus program. I was quite unsure at first because I did not know what I should expect, but that’s what is beautiful about life, right? Being unsure and excited about the future. So I decided to go with one plan: have an amazing time in Edessa, Greece!

When I got there I was welcomed by a beautiful family. They were all so kind and treated me like their own child! I have never felt more welcomed in my life. They gave me all they had: food, utilities and even a welcome gift! My host is an amazing person. She was kind and took care of me for the entire duration of the program, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

In the meantime I was able to connect with other people as well. Getting to know teenagers with whole different backgrounds and stories was truly amazing! We were all different but at the same time not. Everyone was here for a reason, friendship, and that’s what brought us all together. I still cannot believe we all got along! I am extremely glad I decided to go because this program really changed my perspective when it comes to people.

There is no reason to be scared of going forward and trying new things. When it comes to people, I say go for it. There is nothing more beautiful than connecting with people because at the core we are all the same, we all want one thing from others, and that is love and acceptance.
